navidad!

Ok....hugely long time..no write. You know how it goes...it just gets bigger and bigger and I just don´t like the idea of having to write so much. So...sorry folks, this one isn´t gonna be that long, cuz I´m feeling a bit lazy right now, and the day is extremely ugly and not motivating.
So...the big thing...christmas!! It was very different, and I missed home alot (although that was made a bit better by talking to my fam..and also an email from my sister :) ) We celebrated the night of the 24th with dinner (no turkey!!!!), and probly ate the smallest christmas dinner of my life. Then at midnight, we had a fermented apple cider drink with pineapple ice cream ( i know..it sounds disgusting..but is really yummy!!) My fam called me after that, and we all went to bed at 4 am. There was 14 people at my house.....a little nuts. I didn´t know some of them that well either. The next day, I awoke at about 12, and stayed in bed til 1....noone else was awake. Then we went to a bbq type deal at the house of my sisters boyfriend...it was good food, but I went home before everyone else....combination of homesick and not knowing the people. What else have I been up to....
well, I didn´t let the holidays stop me from going to the disco.....Julia left on wednesday, so we went to the disco tuesday night, and hung out at her house for a bit before we brought her to the airport. It didn´t feel real that she was leaving....gonna miss her like crazy that´s for sure!!! We had a good last night hanging out tho.
Now that school has been out..i sleep in til noon every day...so wait a bit before lunch. I hang out with friends in the afternoon..and sometimes go out at night. Yesterday, I met up with a friend (i messaged him when I woke up to go running..but he didn´t have his running pants..so we couldn´t go...) instead we went to the center of town and hung out there (saw a cool little 3 man play onthe street corner....a guy with a massive beard and long hair was the woman...it was quite hilarious, specially when his plastic chest keep popping out...) Then we met up with another friend...but walked past the street where we were sposed to meet her, because we didn´t know where it was. I didn´t feel bad..only lived here for 4 months..but we made fun of the other guy alot. We were hungry...and so went to the grocery store to buy something for once (like a snack for dinner...) Hugo wanted pastry..but since I was the one with money, we bought yogurt, cereal, and bananas. Hugo mixed the three yogurt flavors, apricot, strawberry, and vanilla...crazy foo! haha.. We have a ton of jokes from yesterday, but they wouldn´t make sense...lets just say it was an amazing day!! I left the house at like 3 30...and din´t get home til 11. As soon as I walked in the door, a guy I had met at the disco a few nights before called me to go out..so I was home for a grand total of about 10 minutes before I left again....I got home at 4 30, and slept in til noon....i love vacation!!! Now I am chillin at home...joking around with my host dad...because I won´t see him for almost 2 months when I leave. I´m gonna miss his jokes and karaoke singing...
I went to a Rotary dinner the other night, with all the wives, a christmas and new years celebration. The ambassador of Chile in Syria was at the dinner, and he gave all of the women (i´m a women..so i got one!) a syrian gift...it signifies good luck.. there is like a hand made ribbon with a cool pattern of flowers, then an eye type rock. Like i said..hard to explain. Its really nice. Umm...this was probably one of the worst blog entries ever....because I really didn´t fill you in that much on my goings on....but I´m having a blast....
Tomoro, new years...I´m not sure what I´m doing...I know i´ll be having dinner at my house. And not sure yet after, I have some invites to go out to the disco and such..who knows! Well....signing off for now....
I´ll try and make better entries next time!
Oh..ps..i have been in Chile for almost 4 and a half months!!! TIME FLIES!!! Well, the internet just cut out..so I´ll write a bit more while I´m waiting for it to start back up....Umm....I have started to run a bit more often, tho still not as often as I would like. I will definitely be joining the gym to mix things up when I come home from Brasil. The dogs that always followed me around have taken to disappearing for long periods of time, which means I can safely leave the house...makes for some laughs that´s for sure.
I got a christmas package from home, much appreciated!!! I ate the stroop waffles in the course of about 2 days....one the first day..and the others the next (my comfort food for christmas!)
And now...back up and running....so I will use the net for about 2 seconds before i disconnect.
